An email came in the other day amongst all the internship emails.

A publisher contacted me to invite me to participate in their new packaging and structural book. It got me excited for like a day and confused for a day. So badly wanted to give it a try at that certain point. Yes, it was the packaging i did in Year 1 for Smarties? Took me so long + so much effort to come up with the template, colours etc etc. Major headache at that point of time zzzzz. It made me so confused so i talked to Beng, then i talked to Mathias since i met him the next day, then things got confused i spoke to Michael from Mindflyer and then Taipang and lastly Si Y. Everyone gave me different opinions. But like Idontwanttonameyouout, you were so unhelpful. But still, thanks for the opinions. Michael gave me opinions which i didn't realise myself so it was good. I mean like afterall, he's from the industry and he's so successful so like i decided to ask him. He's so approachable and friendly luh. Went for like 2 of his talks before? Asked for payment from the publisher but they refused, which was kinda expected? Like duh. But the point was there were too many files i had to give them and there was this part in the invitation form that stated that they have the rights of the work etc etc to edit, publish etc etc. It felt like I was gonna lose my rights and like yeah, they can just change the colours and all and come up with a whole new set of them? So it felt risky. Si Y called not long ago and pointed out many points and her personal experiences which made me want to reject them even more, and so i did. So thankful for the opinions even though like everyone knows, i dont really talk to her. So contradicting but i appreciate the thought :) And this makes me realise like errrr yeah, the school seriously needs to have a module on all these. Like how to charge, rights of your works, copyrights etc. This is so super confusing :/ Like seriously. We need to know all these to survive in this complicated industry. Tyvm.
